I had the same a couple of years ago, with a company that contacted me through one of the part finder places. Luckily paid via CC, so it was a relatively simple "Goods Not as Described", I did try to complain to the company that sent it, the day the goods arrived, and was told to "f Off there's nothing you can do about it", which made damn sure I did!!

Can't be sure but I think it was that neck of the woods. For £750 I'd have been paying a visit!!

Yep my mate who is built like King Kong and 36 stone but not Fat wanted to and i nearley did but being a Dad and pathing the way for the young uns i am calming down as i Age..

You dont know what i wanted to do????????????? :(bigsmoke):

But they have rang me in the last couple of days and wanted to pay me off fo £150 as they termed it "As a gesture"!! cheeky [person of questionable parentage]!!

I told em it will cost it more than that when he has to travell up from their and his solictor cheap [!Expletive Deleted!]..
So i will see your Boss in Court!!

All the [!Expletive Deleted!] blood sweat and Tears that had to go into that Disco Engine converstion even worse to think all i wanted was a Defender to fit strait into my 90 , No job at the moment and then so it was buy a part when i could afford it ..then wait ...more money another part..All because of these people..this went on for three months and still is as you see..

I am also off work long term sick with Deppression and work related stress part of which wa caused by this and today i got a Clamp on my Landy after going to court to be told it was Adjurned as the owner had had an accident and hirt his head...ye right!!

So i have had a really nice day all in all ..Merry Xmas eh?..

Reading the guys post he says he wanted an engine for a Vectra and got one for an Astra estate. Are they not the same engines anyway??
Cheers, Karl..

i had the same not all that long ago.i filled in the parts finder online. that day i had about 4 phone calls saying they had the turbo i needed....i went over the details with a fine tooth comb. i asked if it was oil cooled or water and oil cooled. ( for a mitsi ). he said nope its definatly oil cooled. i asked what model it was from and he said a mk2. and all the numbers matched.
being the cautiouse type i paid by cc. when it arrived it didnt resemble the one i had in a cardboard box in the kitchen ( sorry viks   ). they had sent me a water cooled mk1 turbo. it wasnt even close.
so i was straigh on the phone. not only was it 2 weeks late but it was the wrong one. the reply i got was

" arrggh na mate you wanna talk to charlie...."
" so can i speak to him then please"
"arrrgh nar mate...he aint in at the minute. phone back later yeah....brrrrr"

yup he hung up on me. any way after 4 days i fanally got to speak to charlie and he sounded much like the bloke i had been talking to all week.this is what he said

" arr right mate i dont know what happened there. must have sent the wrong one out.
"well can you send me the right one out please?"

he was on a cordless phone and he told me he was looking for the turbo now to send it straight out to me..

" yes mate i have it here.....read your numbers out"
"ok they all match i will send it out now"

a weeka and a half later and it still aint with me. time to call them again. i spent the best part of 5 days trying to get hold of charlie again who must be the most absent employey of the year. when i did hold of him he said.

" you aint got it yet then....i will call you back in 5 mins."
" no i will call you back in 5 mins "

called back 5  mins later.....arrgghh nar mate charlie has gone home for the day now"
i took a deep breath
"so he goes home at 12.30 in the aftenoon does he?"
"yeah man he wasnt feeling well"

i bet he wasnt. this bloke keeps calling and not giving up. so the next day i keep phoning every 5 mins. whe i do get hold of him he says

" it was definatly sent out to you. im lookin at the invoice now , if it aint there tomorrow then call me again"

tomorrow comes and goes and no turbo in sight. so next day i spend the best part of the morning trying to talk to charlie again. when i do get hold of him he says

" nar mate we dont have the right turbo here."
"what. i thought you sent it out to me almost 2 weeks ago"
silence
" nar mate dont have the right one here for you. i will credit your money back"

i was fuming big time. i waisted a month and a half on these jokers. and they still had my money. i fought hard for the next 3 weeks to get my money back but never did. i ended up selling the turbo on to someone who needed one for a mk1. i did say to him that if it wasnt any good then he could send it back to me for a full refund. as it turns out it was a good turbo.
i definatly wont be using partsfinder again. i know its not their fault but its easy pickings for these cowboys to set up with very little come back. they know its going to cost you alot of agro to take them to court ect.
the amount of stress it cuased me was unbelieveable.
be very careful if you are going to use the parts finder.i would phone around local companies or ask here on mud club for rcomended places that other members have used.

sorry for the long essay type post but if it saves one person agro then it was worth the sore fingers,.....
cheers
