Air bag ensors
« on: December 07, 2005, 16:14:19 »
I have the SRS light on in my 300tdi M reg disco.

Looking at past recieps for work done to the car it has had the SRS light sorted before but on the bottom of the page it says SRS light may return.

I was wondering if I were to order a new sensor off ebay if the parcel was thrown around alot by the Posties is there a chance something in the sensor would touch if landed on something heavy and then when I attatch it to the car the bags go off?

I dont know how air bag ensors work except for under force something inside moves and makes a contact.

The last thing I want to do is start sorting out airbags that have gone off in the car from no accident!

Most expensive item for a Disco is????? a round piece of paper stuck on the windscreen!

The one in my 1994 has been mostly on for years. Been sorted and returned several times. As it is not an MoT fail I am waiting for the bulb to blow.
The bags should be replaced at 10 yrs old anyway I think but I would rather revert to an ordinary wheel and dash which will happen one of these days.
