The only difference that I know is that 1 kit has 3 lines and the other has 5, so count your lines and see. Might be as simple as that but not 100%
Getting there? slowly!

When you switch the ignition on, if you've got ABS you will see a little light on the dashboard - a cirlce with ABS in it I think?! :?  It goes ouot once you go over 5 - 7 mph (or so). Or at least it should go out, unless you've got a duff sensor like me

will double check tomorrow but can't say ive ever seen a light. But That doesn't mean much. cus the bulb could have gone. after 10 years. I have a good fealing it hasn't got ABS but. need to confirm before ordering the wrong part, and then getting to my mechanic and finding out its wrong.

Cheers for the feedback. LEE

Have a look in the engine bay.  Trace the brake lines from the master cylinder...  do they all go into a big lump of metal, or do they just disappear off to the corners of the vehicle ?

If you have a lump, you have ABS :-)

The ABS unit sits on top of the passenger side inner wing, in front of the screenwash bottle. It will most probably have WABCO written on it. You can't miss it :-)

Not sure why the lines in the kit would need to be different tho :-)

Just find a deserted car park, drive upto about 20mph and stamp on the brakes.

IIRC the MOT regulations state that the ABS warning light *must* come on with the ignition and stay on for a short ish period of time whilst the system works out what day of the week it is.

Hence, if the light on the dash doesn't come on (telling you you have ABS) then it's broken and you should fix it anyhow ;)
