noisy TD5
« on: December 11, 2005, 12:11:21 »
my Disco seems really noisy at 1500 rpm, its the same in all gears, its just a normal diesal type noise just seems much lowder at that rpm, before and after 1500 shes almost silent soon as she hits the 1500 she turns into a skip lorry for a few seconds, she drivers fine etc just it bug's me, sounds like a bucket of marbles even when she's warmed right up,
is this the same with your TD5's ???

cheers

Have you changed the inlet at all, or the exhaust significantly?  is the fuel pump timed in properly?

Nope ... mine's (relatively) quiet across the range.

Sounds as though it could be a resonance problem; have a check for anything loose - it may be that the garage didn't tighten something correctly ...
