I'm affraid I dont know the disco diesel engine that well just going off general deisel engine knoledge, is there any kind of air flow or MAS sensor in the intake?H
bio-diesel and its shagged the lift pump
I have this fittedhttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4597020085&ssPageName=MERC_VIC_ReBay_Pr4_PcY_BIN_ITand no i dont think there is water in the fuel as i have cleaned the tank out..
Is the tickover lumpy when it's on tickover and warm?If so you may have damaged the springs in the fuel injection pump.Been there done that.

Yes, disconnecting the outlet and operating the lever should produce fuel ... However, the pump needs to be 'off cam' for the lever to work - if there's no resistance when you lift the lever, rocking the car (in gear, of course) will turn the engine slightly, thus moving the cam away from the pump and allowing the lever to work fully ...Just don't forget to take it out of gear again before going for a start ...
