JUst had a quote for £410 and they can do it early next week.Is this a good price?
Make sure you get a 'three piece clutch' i.e. pressure plate, fly wheel and release bearing - Valeo and Borg & Beck seem to be the names to trust. Also make sure they replace the fork as this is prone to wearing through on the pivot point - if you're 'going in' to do any of these jobs it is far more cost effective to do all four at once. I think somewhere in the region of 200-250 supplied and fitted is a reasonable price as long as it is a reputable installer.
The first few symptoms sound like a release bearing, have yo been wading at all? The juddering is not necessarily the same thing, clutch slipping is another matter, is it slipping in high gears? try a rough gear change and see if it holds or slips.
What was the damage on the price then James?
