Hello new to the group here this would have to one of the best. I have a question I thought some would know the answer to here. I have a 95 mdl disco with the solid rotors I would like to put vented ones in. I have heard that defender calipers will bolt straght on alowing the thicker rotors to be installed. Does anyone know what mdl defender will do this?

Loki Hi,

If you are interested I can propose the following setup which I use for my cars and those of friends and fellow members of the LR Club of Greece when they want to upgrade their solid front and rear brakes.

A pair of vented and drilled front brake disks.
A pair of spacers with seals and special bolts in order to convert the standard calipers so that they fit to the vented rotors  and
A pair of solid but drilled rear brake disks.

This kit totally transforms the braking capabilities of a solid disks equipped Disco, RaRo or Defender.

Cost will be around 310 pounds including shipping to your door.

Alternatively if you are NOT interested for the front vented and drilled and rear drilled brake disks but you are only looking for the calipers upgrade kit (spacers, seals and bolts) this will be 55 pounds delivered to your door.

(yes I know you are in the UK and I am in Greece)

Take care

Αnd one more thing.

My brakes' specialist is currently working on a project that we have thought together.
A larger diameter front brake disks set for the Defender, Disco S1 and RaRo Classic vehicles using the standard LR calipers.

The brake disks are already made using special aluminium CNC machined hats that apart from providing better cooling characteristics also allow a far simpler and cost effective replacement procedure when brake disks will have to be changed in the future with the brake discs will be easily removable from the hat without any need to also remove the hat (as required with the standard LR brake disks)

He is currently working on the supporting brackets for the calipers.

I will let everybody on the forum know about the outcome of the final stages of development of this larger brake disks and standard calipers for our landies.

BTW the brake disk diameter will be 310 mm instead of 290 mm (if I remember right) of the standard one) and of course is vented and can also be provided in drilled and vented form.

Take care
