What's worth what?
« on: December 21, 2005, 23:05:25 »
I'm breaking my disco - most the mechanics are worth something as well as the interior fittings worth a few pennies, but when it came down to it I planned on getting happy with the angle grinder and cutting the body away from the chassis - I'm guessing glass is worth a little.. are any of the panels worth more than scrap?

oh and if anyone has been wondering how to remove xyz from the car without breaking it, then feel free to come and have a go on mine! tea/coffee/beers supplied!

TIA

Doors are worth something, especially if they haven't completely rusted to bits :)

I would guess that the roofpan might be worth something to someone wanting to get rid of the rain holes (sunroof)

Similarly, the front left wing might be worth something if it's not got a sodding great snorkel hole in it :)

removing a roof on a disco will be fun, was looking at what was left of big lbue last night and the front of roof is spot welded then folded around the front for the windscreen.

yes but you need to get a pipe to fit the end of the snorkel to the air box.  You can get them from places such as demon tweeks.. you won't be able to fit my snorkel to your 300 though as Kev has already amde an offer :-)

not only a soddinig great big snorkel hole but about 2 inches cut back from each arch, a small split (covered by custom wheel arch liners) and every panel is probably dented in some way!  My roof pan has two rain holes and the paint is starting to go.. so I guess that means their worth about the square root of nothing!
