No I'm not about to go out &raid the vehicles around here, or even the Ambulances

But, as 'S50 RAT' has between 12 & 15gallons in its tank, I want to remove it before it goes in PX (possibly) at the weekend. Might as well pour it into it in the Mondeo.

There's no anti-syphonic traps in the supply line between the filler & tank are there?

What about just driving it around for the next few days......and making sure your next vehicle either

1. Doesn't use diesel (smelly icky noisy stuff)
2. Comes with a full tank of go-go juice.

Problem solved.

I mean.....how "yorkshireman-like" is wanting to syphon the fuel in your car out?!?!

Pop the pipe feeding into the fuel filter and leave the ignition on the electric pump will do it for you

You could raise the back of the motor to aid the syphoning, but they can be a pain to get the pipe in

Or look in the floor in the back, pop the screws off the sender unit in the top of the tank and syphon from there

Steady Neil, if he was a true yorkshireman he would drain the cooling system on the morning he was taking it to the garage and refill it with rain water out of the garden tube just in case the new one has no antifreeze in it.
You don't want to have to buy it twice in one decade do you

Just realised this is in the wrong forum
I must have been browsing prior to initally writing.

Can't syphon the damn thinng :x , the 1/2" tubing  I bought doesn't seem to want to dip down into the tank & the screws for the coverplate are rusted solid. It's snowing & I was frozen out there.
So stuff it, I've got to pick SWMBO up tonight after work in Leeds, so that's another gallon used

Are you going to leave enough in for the new owner to get to a filling station or are you going to make him bring a jerry can ? :D

Looks like I'm leaving him about 13-14gallons in

Unless the oxygen tubing I 'borrowed' will dip down into the tank in the morning
