Hello Everyone,

I'm just after a bit of information.

About 25years ago when I was wee lad I seem to remember my Dad taking me to a 4x4 trial. From what I can remember it was a load of Hybrids bombing round some 'unusual' countryside. For some reason I think it was near Eastnor Castle??

Anyway, now that I'm a father I would love to take the next generation along to spectate at such an event. I've looked on the net but can't find a great deal.

Can anyone help with some suggestions of events in the Midlands or on what I probably witnessed all those years ago.

Thanks

It was more than likely to be The Major's Memorial Trial at Eastnor, held in September by MROC. Been a couple of times, free to spectate and plenty to see.

You can have a look at last years event here

We have a trial which isn't exactly bombing around at Menith Wood in Worcs tomorrow all being well. It's on the A443 between Worcester and Tenbury Wells look for the AWDC signs. Starts at 10 ends when it's dark I dare say.

I think it's a Christmas event that's a bit late so there may be novelty sections. Looking out of the window it'll be wet underfoot and tyre which will make it interesting.

If it was a speed event then the AWDC also run these as do www.BritishOffRoadChampionship.co.uk

As do the Midland Off Road Club

www.midlandoffroadclub.co.uk

but I'm not sure the events list is up yet.

AWDC take it very seriously!

Challenge events are fun to watch as well, trials involve a lot of hanging about. If you own a shiny 4x4 then I think Midland Offroad Club will have some definitely non damaging trials this year where unless you go looking for something to hit you won't damage anything. AWDC can't say the same thoughtheir trials are quite 'demanding'!
