DIY Landrover Security?
« on: January 10, 2006, 20:48:45 »
The "is this justice" thread got me thinking.  Has anyone come up with good cheap (and non leathal ;) ) security ideas for their motor?  I would be interested in any reasonably cheap alarms (worth having though, not the argos rubbish!).

My series 3 has a hidden battery isolator switch and a poxy flashing red LED on the dash.  I leave the transfer in neutral for the real idiots.  Its been broken into once but they couldnt start it (battery isolator).  Shame they made such a mess of the wiring trying!

Anyone got any good ideas?

One of these are a good deterrent

A pain to remove with the key

Although this is on the disco, I use tone on the series too, although not to good on the hybrid being an automatic, but still can clamp round the brake pedal and sit on top of the accelerator

Hybrid for running round (got to go now)
Srs 3 Lightweight petrol (got to go)
Srs 3 Lightweight petrol, runabout

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40

how about cutting and tapping the gearstick below floorpan level and removing the gearstick? Could even have a screw on plate with a padlock too then...... Back it up to a wall and lock it in reverse....

Move the battery into a secure box and isolate it (In the boot?). One more thing they have to break into.... Same with the other "Important" bits under the bonnet....

I got one of them.  The only security used she'd be is that she may drown them in the "lick them to death" attempt.....

Yeah shes a boxer

She was actually 12 years old yesterday!!  Dam old for a boxer.  Had them all my life.

She used to have a jet black face but its gone white now plus shes partially blind but still loopy as a fruitcake and no shortage of energy....

Wow that is old, we were told they only live to about 9 or 10, but then again i had a german shepard for nearly 15 years so they can do it,

Would like to breed him now as he's 18 months old & got exellent pedigree,  shame the old dear not any younger  ,

It's true what they sat then --   they stay barmy for ever   ,

This is my 4th boxer

Way to old to breed now, shame.  Great dogs!
