Excellent place, a few of us that are localish, have trip up a couple of times a year, and the birthday party was held there last year.

If you're thinking of going stick it in the Shows\Events section, and I'm sure some of us will join you.

xmob is one of the patrol drivers, so I'm sure he'll be along shortly.

I reckon the best thing is going round in groups of 4/5 vehicles. That way you should never get stuck but you don't have to wait for people all the time.

If you groups any bigger best to book with them, but split into more groups when you get there.

Pete(xmob) will be along shortly but I think there are 3 routes (maybe 2), so you can pick the leave of difficulty. I reckon a road going disco, will get round  but not on the extreme route.

What tyres you got on it?

Seriously wouldn't go on the extreme route with anything other than decent mud tyres.

Here I am!   :D

There are 4 routes at LQ.

Red - Takes about 1 hour.  Even Freebies have been known to do this.
Blue - Takes about 2 hours.  Similar, but more of it.
Green - Takes about 3 hours.  Bit more challenging, but still nothing too major to worry about.
Black - Takes all day (and then some!).  VERY extreme.  Solos are a no-no, and vehicles WILL need winches.

This time of year there's LOTS of water and mud about.  Some of the fords are quite deep and scare newbies.  If you're door seals are ok, and you take it slowly, you'll be ok.

You've also got to consider the daylight this time of year.  It's amazing how big an 11,000 acre forest gets in the dark.   :?

Pics:  Look in my galleries.
Vids:  Well, I did have a load on video.google.com, but they same to have gone walkabouts.  They're there in my account, but not present when played.  I'll resubmit them and come back with links.

Are you all going in one vehicle, or is that several vehicles??

If you let me know which day, I might see if I can arrange a posse to help recover you

Can't do this Saturday, but otherwise.

Done the Timber Trail and Jungle Trek in a standard Discovery 300 Tdi.

Brilliant day out, even wife and kids enjoyed it.

No damage but I also had number plate come off at one side, fastened it on with a bungee strap till I got home.

They don't.

Nothing has been finalised in writing yet, nor is it likely to be until the middle of the year.  So, until then, the operation continues as normal.   :D

Also, while no further restrictions can be applied, the planning committee may decide not to enforce all those agreed upon.

I would just like to say that if you are going then wear clothes you don't mind getting muddy in! Also be warned that the "mud" is not of your usual calibre........ very difficult to wash out   We went twice last year as we are lucky enough to have a static out that way and I had the misfortune of faling flat on my face........head to toe in "mud" but it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately I don't have pics cos I was holding the camera at the time and even though it was also covered it survived!!!!! Anyway have fun, I am sure you will  :D
