emmisons breather

hi all  :D quick question if any one knows or can help  ive got a leak of some sort from the emmisons breather  black thingy on the side of my 200tdi engine the question is this can i by pass the whole system and just run a new pipe from the sump up to a catch tank as  the rest of the system has been disconected from the air box and is only pooring it over my chassis great news for chassis not so good as the filter thingy on the side is probably blocked and is now leaking down the side of block  :( now as imnot actually using the emmisons system i have no need for the black filter thingy thats leaking would anyone no if this is ok to do or has done it cos after all its only bad breath from the sump :D just not to sure regards colin

is it the black box that bolts onto the rockercover??

get 1 of a broken disco if not i dout they would be dear new

:D hi mate yes its the emmisson cleaning filter i spose i dont want it there at all i was wondering if i can by pass whole system and use a catch tank instead as mine is blocked and leaking down the block  i dont use the other pipe that goes to the air box as all it does is put warm air in and filthy oil breath that adds to your emmissons and puts oil on your air cleaner in effect then i have allready disconected the emmisons system cleaner as this pipe now coats the front of my chassis rail with oil :D just checking if anyone else has done this or by passed from the sump itself where the system starts  :D
