Be wary of Paddock Motors!
« on: January 12, 2006, 13:17:18 »
Ordered a part from them yesterday using the credit card for £1.79.  Credit card was declined so paid them in cash.  Check credit card balance today and it seems paddocks are trying to claim a payment of £10!!  There is no reason for them to claim this money, i have not ordered anything else and they are the only company we have used the credit card for since December!

So beware people, they obviously like having card details, i for one wont be trusting them with the details again!

I've never had any problems with them.......

Are you sure it's them that's claimed the £10?

If it's exactly £10 then it sounds more like an admin fee from your card provider  :?

Definately sure, the wife just spent 30 mins on the phone to the card provider, and they have definately said its someone trying to take a payment off the card, there is no admin charge and they said its exactly the same person trying to take the £10 as tried to take the £1.79.

I would speak to Paddocks first. It may be a guenuine mistake, or even a dishonest employee syphoning off money somehow. Either way, think they should be given the opportunity to put it right.

Maybe you have already done this? If so what did they say?

Some good advice there, phoned them up and they basically just fobbed me off.  They just said they were sure it wasnt them and that was it.

Never had a problem with them , suggest you monitor the situation and speak again to the credit card provider,as they hold the key, but if paddocks say not us then the problem could be with the provider.......

I must say I have to go with the flow, used Paddocks many many times and as yet no had any problems.

I've even had orders dispatched then not arrived and they have sent out another order without fail and re0funded to carriage for the inconvience.

Always found them to be helpful.

I have always found them helpful...more so if you take the time to order online and ensure you get the right bits. I did go over once and got home with the wrong rod ends and some other parts were incorrect but in their defense i have got a bit of a mish mash of transmission parts.
I would say ask for the manager at least you will get an outcome...hopefully one that suits you.

when we were goimg to the alps we took a list to paddocks of bits,  they were very helpful and told us not to bother with certain bits as they were expensive and probably wouldn't need them,  they said they could post them by UPS for next day delivery we would not go anywhere else, got a landrover spares shop 1 mile from home but prefer to go about 15 miles instead.  as a woman who fetches spares for the disco they are not patrenising when i ask them questions but i find them very helpful.

Same here, last thing I ordered was a kit and they took out the bits that I didn't need - and charged me less, this brought my order to less than the £50 (for free postage) but they sent it free anyway  :D

It would seem that nearly every topic that someone says "where can I get ........" Paddocks name always gets a mention, from very satisfied customers.

I've always found them very helpful, even when there's been queues out of the door they've always had time to explain & check that every thing is correct.

I would go back to the credit card company, if the transaction is not yours then they are duty bound to refund the money, they have ways of checking when & where the transaction was logged.

Well after another phone call to Paddocks it would seem that their merchant banking system (streamline) automatically takes a £10 payment from your card and repays it a few days later (6 days on and still waiting).  There is no warning on Paddocks website and they cant see what they are doing wrong by not informing people of this    Now the amusing thing, the payment i was originally making was declined because of this £10 payment thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
