hello

i it possible to tighten up the steering box on a j reg disco v8
i test drove one at the weekend and it seemed to have quite a bit of play in the steering

yup

there an adjuster on the top, an allen bolt with lock nut

back off the lock nut and wind int he adjuster a tad, don't go mad

oh, retighten the lock nut

Also, make sure the wheels are pointing straight ahead when you make the adjustments.

Play in the steering could also be caused by other things like worn panhard rod bushes, loose track rod ends, loose wheel bearings, too much play in te swivle pins...........  :wink:
