Disco 1 wheel arches
« on: January 19, 2006, 20:06:24 »
I was thinking about taking the black plastic wheel arches off my disco to make it look better. Presumeably being aluminium the wings won't be corroded will they?...maybe just covered in green muck and stuff.
Has anybody done this and if so are they easy to get off, and did it look better after?

Good, then you can sell them to me !

Aluminium does corrode but if you paint any bare metal quickly you will be fine.

So hurry up and sell them to me !

Not all of them had the eyebrows fitted from the factory, so it'll look still like a standard vehicle and shouldn't cause you too much hassle.

The body should all be finished properly under there, but you may need to touch up the paint if it gets damaged.

looks better from a distance, i keep finding more dinks, rust etc. but plenty to work on, and drives nice. SWMBO has taken a liking to it, and now making "suggesting" what i can and cant do to it, and i have been informed i should keep the steps, so will be looking for some nice areas to "accidentally" pull them off, so i can slap some sliders on

Not many were fitted as standard, I have been looking for a set that are a reasonable price for a long time.

Not everybody goes climbing up vertical cliff faces or driving through a 300 feet deep puddle, quite a lot of people just like a little mild off roading for the rest of the time its a "chelsea tractor" and one of the items for a chelsea tractor is flared wheel arches.
