On a similar note, we get the same phone call every January and it usually happens several times during January. Someone calls saying "Back in November you kindly agreed to donate to our charity in aid of 'whatever' and we are calling to confirm the details....." We have never agreed to donate to them and we have never even had a call from them in November... we only ever get the ones in January!

I think they rely on a large company with various departments thinking someone else has agreed to it. With only 2 of us working here, that simply doesn't work   I don't know if it a legitimate charity or not. But either way, it is a dubious way to extract money from people.

We got the same parcel delivery note, the number to call was £1.50 a min.
Needless to say we didn't bother
Getting there? slowly!

We had exactly the same saying they were delivering a camcorder and as coincidence would have it i had put mine in for repair i didnt phone them but it was so convincing all fracked with royal mail so we contacted trading standards and they were very iterested and asked us to send them the letter they are now investigating the matter

Did you know that some of these are calls from people who sell advertising in magazines which are said to be for the fire service charity etc, they take the money and give a small percentage to the charity and in return you  get an advert in some obscure publication. They mostly call using hidden numbers so i ask them why they have done this and they either hang up or get quite rattled by this,i have been sworn at in the past.
