Waffle boards mounted on rear door liner
« on: January 22, 2006, 17:05:11 »
Mounted my waffle boards on back door chequer plate liner, should keep them out of the way. Anyone else used bungee cord and steel brackets to hold them in place on rear door? I hope they wont fly off first time I go down a steep bank and snack me on the back of the head!

Having a roofrack, I store them on the roof, it keeps all the mud out of the inside of the Disco.  :D

How did you fix the chequer plate to the door, was it riveted or screwed in?

On all my chequerplate i use the self tapping bolts from Screwfix. The are really strong, and you put them in with a drill, and an 8mm socket. They have a washer too.

like the chequer plate. Do you cut it yourself from the pattern of the door card or is someone selling them already done?

Bought it already cut of eblag for £30. Would have cut it myself, but could not find a cheap supply of chequer plate anywhere. If anyone knows where it can be bought from at sensible prices let me know.

Seems that it is just as cheap to but it ready cut. That way they only charge you for waht you use. I have enquired several times from suppliers (even through work), and its still expensive.

rebel sell the door cards pre cut in chequer plate,

got tons of them "tech screws" , brilliant bits of kit, but didnt want the big heads sticking out for this perticular job so used round head speed screws (self tappers)
