Other than the actual gearbox itself, what else would need changing to go from manual to auto ? its a disco 1 3.5 V8 on carbs by the way.
I am assuming the rad would need changing to one with an oil cooler too ?
And anyone know who sells the shaft to cure the transfer box clunk on the disco 1 ?

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40

I already have a used borg warner transfer box available and a gearbox from a 1994 rangie LSE so hopefully they will fit.
I am definately doing it though, I drove an N reg ES that was auto a few days ago and it really is the nuts !

Will let you know, I have a bit of body repair to do at the back first so will do it in the spring I think when its a bit warmer.
Its definately being done though, That ES was a 300TDi which has less power than my V8 and it drove like a dream, I was expecting it to be a bit clunky on gear changes but I didnt even feel it change gear.
