EEPS, I'm converting to the dark side!
« on: February 03, 2006, 08:49:24 »
I just drove the Audi for the first time in 2 weeks

And it feels weird

Realy weird

Gearstick doesnt move far enough, cant feel the road through the steering, too quiet. ARGH!

Is this it, am I turning to the dark side and becomming a full time 4wd driver?
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

dont it feel weird that the steering actually communicates with the road wheels and is not just in an advisory capacity as well   not like a landy where you anticipate the corner before you get there

Beinag able to turn the car with a finger rather than having to wrench it round with both hand you mean. Difference between precision, finely balanaced German engineering that will break if you hit a kerb too hard and circa 1900 designed sterring box that will allow you to drive over anything.

MY Audi goes round corners when you use the round thing in the front, it goes faster when you press that peddle on the right, and it actually stops when you press the one in the middle....... strange

It also starts, doesn't make a racket, doesn't breakdown weekly, it doesn't leak..... blah, blah, blah ........ and it doesn't suck fuel through a very large straw.

Why do I let my wife steal it daily and leave my green oval behind?

Ahh, got you there, The Audi has a horrible fuel consumption rate, uses two large straws :)  I actually got the Suzuki for fuel economy

Nope, read it again, DOESN'T suck through a large straw (it's a TDi too), and it does a lot more MPG than the Disco

Personally I'm quite a fan of the Audi Marque. Stuff like the RS6 just makes me drool.

I like the Audi's, I think they drive and handle well, but there not that good off road, even with Quattro.

Mines a pre RS2, basically RS2 in all but body. Quattro is great but in much more than a flat field or sligthly rough lane its no use. the car is built for speed and although it'll eat up the knocks and bumps it just has no clearance, and to add to that S-Line series motors are dropped. on the standard rims I have less than 6" clearance between rear diff and the ground, totally useless in anything thats rutted or potholed. On a flat road or even gravel is just sticks to the road but all the engineering and the electronics takes the fun out of it.

I meant that My Audi has atrocious fuel consumption. The suzuki uses half the fuel (provided you stay under 70) AT 70 the Audi fuel consumption plumets and the Suzuki starts trying to suck the whole tank down the pipe :)
