Anyone got any ideas..
« on: February 06, 2006, 11:50:38 »
As part of my degree I have to do a business project comparing 2 companies from the same market area, but opposite ends.  So, I was thinking of comparing a company that supplies extreme off road upgrades to a company that supplies orginal/pattern part standard replacements (mainly for Landrovers).

Does anyone have some good suggestions of companies I should be looking at for the extreme (thats the area I know least about) and some parts company.

I'm appreciative of any help.

Cheers Neil

Why not try for BRITPART for the standard end as they must at present be a very interesting company to see in action as they must be being squeezed by the cheap imports from China etc.

This must be a big difference between the extreme end where premium prices/margins prevail and the consumable end where everything is driven by keeping teh price low.

Thanks for the ideas guys, there are alot of companies that make spares for Landrovers!!  Do Britpart make their own parts?  Could compare maybe Britpart with Autopost (http://www.autopost.co.uk/Pages/index.htm), as Autopost tend to supply cheap pattern parts (such as cheap Chinese imports!).  Or I could compare maybe southdown 4x4 who manufacture underbody protection and say, Paddocks who sell many things including underbody protection.

Any more ideas are more than welcome..
