Chuggaman's "Fitting 36" tyres to Rear Wheel Carri

Sorry Chuggaman, your thread disapeared on me but I managed to copy & paste the posts into here, although in reverse order.

I've also gone for the D44 Carrier but I think there is space to re-drill the holes on the original to raise it up the door enough??  :D
Is that what you've done?

I bought a Devon 4x4 raised carrier.
Easy.

What did you do Mike?

turn it round, back to front?

put wheel nuts on the studs to act as collars?

ok... I give up!

Bolt it onto a roof rack?

I remember there being a device which fastens on to the carrier and has a set of raised studs on it to mount the wheel higher up. No idea where I saw it though

Yes I was going to say the same thing with raising the mounting, Paul I think did it and I followed his plan and did it on mine as well, not too difficult to do just make sure all the measurements are right

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40

Yes but he said no modifications or welding.

I did mine with no welding but still had to modify the holes and make sure the wiper didn't catch.

It'll fill the rear window though :)

take three alloy wheel locking nuts and follow the picture below.

it holds tight with no rattles or movement.

3mm gap between bumper and wheel. :D
