35" tyres & gearing
« on: February 08, 2006, 19:21:35 »
I would like to fit 35" tyres on my 200tdi 90 but i can't afford to alter gearing at the same time. Will the standard ratios cause the vehicle to struggle with overgearing? I have 33" tyres at the moment and it drives fine. In time i will be looking to fit diff locks so could look at changing ratios then, i'm just too skint to do it all in one go. The vehicle is a play truck and does very little road driving, just to and from playdays and some greenlaning. Will it be ok or should i wait untill i can afford to do the lot? :?  :?

got 35"s on mine and the speedo is well out - it tends to run out of steam at about 60 ish on the speedo which is really about 70 something i spose.

leave the gearing and adjust the fuel for more power!

I'm not fussed about the speedo, i use my gps for that anyway. I'm not too fussed about top end either as long as i still have a usable off road truck that is all that matters. :D
