It will go in, with a carlton/manta gearbox, new engine mounts, a bit of wirinf and some bodging with the exhaust/gearchange
Go on....cut me in half........it says SUZUKI all the way thru the middle!!

The answer is yes it will, and make a very capable zuk, but it will make it better if you do a few other mods along the way.
Samurai axles at least, 410 axles are far to weak IMO.
If you want to make life easy when fitting the gearbox and engine, stick a 2" body lift, that will save u having to alter the transmission tunnel and the bonnet.
All in all its not a hard conversion, the wiring is very easy, and you can get away with only having to weld new engine mounts, and make a new propshaft, the rest can be a bolt on conversion.

Bit late - but yeah what they all said!!

We fitted one to our little cow car (SJ410 painted like a cow! lol) - went like stink! Then we sold it...!

Never did get to try it offroad!

So if anyone ever sees an SJ painted up like a cow with a 2.0ltr engine - let me know or take a piccie - would love to see how its getting on!

Well, the Rover 3.5 will fit & I'm plenty of daft Yanks have stuck a 'small-block' in one, so a Vauxhall inline 4 shouldn't be a problem :?

"Well, the Rover 3.5 will fit"  BTM, I wish you hadn't said that.  V8 sitting in the workshop.  :D My current project is to re-engine, coil spring and space frame an SJ410. Just trying to decide on engine/gear box/axle set up.  :?  :?  :?  Speed not critical but but low down grunt is.  Trials/challenge vehicle. 1.7 diesel sounds good.  :D More info please, rollasuki :?
