or rather I need to do an exhaust mod.. the design of back box I've got catches on the tyres in certain possitions.

My main thought is to chop out the back box and locate a bit of disco straigh exhaust pipe and weld that it it's place.

I'm told diesels dont matter if the back box has gone.  I assume the engine (or rather turbo) not exaclty being a perfomance unit will mind(?)... How about MOT chaps, or is there a better way to do this?

Any length of straight pipe will do.... 2" diameter... or 2 1/4"

No problems with noise, MOT's etc etc.

Doubt you'll notice any performance difference... but still a worthwhile mod... for perfomance removing the large centre box, and just running one small silencer makes more of difference.

If you get stuck, if your ever up this way again... I could get hold of some pipe for you... or even weld it on for you.....

Were the seats ok by the way??
