Den,

The Khyam tents are pretty good, but not knowing where we'll be stopping on the Mac I couldn't comment on how appropraite one would be.

Just put the seats back and kip in the car

My Dad has a Caranex and easy to put up isn't one of its characteristics!

I also have a Microfast self erecting tent which does exactly what you would expect, it self erects, shame it doesn't put its self away though that requires two people rolling around on the ground swearing for 15-20 minutes!

Have a look at this one http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/Product_arborescence/MOUNTAIN/HIKING/Hiking_equipmen/CAMP_SITE_TENTS/product_5599863/index.html#

I've got one and it's as easy as they say it is £35 last year store pick up only.

If it's anything like last year it's gonna be freezing, but maybe worth a look.

Have you seen this

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3254860.htm

its certainly cheap - £49.99, and the umbrella style tents are usually pretty easy to put away, I've seen loads used at bike rallies (but not to my knowledge this exact one.

Advantage is, as its Argos, you could buy it, put it up and put it away and see how good it is, if you don't like it take it back under the 16 day guarantee.

Dennis mate,

You could do worse than have a look at some of the current umbrella systems us carp anglers use. They go up in seconds and within a couple of minutes you have a good all weather shelter. They fit a bedchair and a fair bit of luggage as well. Shop around for the best deals.

I've spent years under them, trust me, they are very good and some are really cheap. Pack away just like a normal brolly and no messing about with poles, pegs and all the rest of the tent based paraphenallia.

Here is a link to show the sort of thing I mean - nip up to Yateley and call in the angling centre, (YAC, The Parade, Yateley, 01252 861955), ask for Ruth and say Tyke put you onto them. You aint a million miles from there mate

Edit:-

Just checked - your about 65 miles from Yateley

Tyke - same idea I had - the post above is a link to an anglers bivvy tent they sell in Argos!

LOL Great minds think alike?  (Although I am not into carp fishing.... just used to be into bike rallies)

I have one of these, very quick to put up and take down. Not the best in wet weather unless you seal the vents in the side though.
