Leg update

Well, I have the results of my operation today and its all gone well. The fixator (maccano bit) is now locked for 4 weeks and then will be relaxed. I have also been told I can now start to load it and can (if I feel up to it) drive again.

All I need now is to get some bloody sleep!

Well, it's a step in the right direction ( ), are you looking at any lasting problems after the mecanno has set (or whatever)?

Tim

This is just a temp fix to last about 5 yrs. I need new knees but they don't last long and you can only have so many in your life and being young (ish) means they need to postpone the first one.

After 4 weeks of the unit being locked, it will be relaxed for a few weeks and then another op to get it removed.  At that time, I should be able to walk again and spend time traveling without lots of pain killers.

The biggest problem I have is that I NEED a drink, but the tablets I have to take means I can't

So thats a few more weeks with no drink

Don't think of it as 5 years, think of it as 1825 days (it sounds more).

Hope all goes well for you  :D

Been through something similar and can realte to how much it bloody hurts.

Then a few years of just plain 'bloody annoying'

9 odd years on I just get the odd 'Man that really hurt' when I do something daft.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.
