I need some help i am about to order online from paddock and i need to know this:

what are the Outriggers below the footwell on the drivers side called are they Fuel tank Outriggers or as listed on paddocks bulk head outriggers??
they are just forward of the fuel tank almost under the Clutch pedel

I know were they are but whats what????

shows the body off a normal IIa (well it was a normal IIa!) ... the new Outrigger is to the rear body support and is just called outrigger or rear fuel tank out rigger... most military IIa's had tanks on both sides.

now pay attention and look closely, you will see I've actually cut off the front fuel tank out rigger.. you can see where it was... was in the way of my exhaust (Jag engine!)

Now the Bulkhead outrigger is visible to the left ( don't forget this is the passengers side you are looking at!) and has a big bolt through it to a bracket at the door pillar.

So as you say it's below the clutch my guess is you are on about the bulkhead outrigger. Does the fuel tank fasten to it? If not and their is a fuel tank that side then it's deffo the bulkhead outrigger.

now you have said the key words the bulk head rigger connects to bottom of Door pillow so it would be the Bulk head rigger i need :oops:

Dam i knew this but could not think strait...Idiot!!!

Anyway another thing now you have helped out and thank you very much..the bolt that goes through to hold the oturigger to door pillow is corroded bad what best way to remove and if to be cut off do they do spares??

Breaker bar , hammer and a suitable drift... but don't bust a gut I'll guess it's standard landrover issue which should make it an off the shelf item.

I forget how I did mine on the IIa I feel it was a bit tight for a grinder. Just can't recall.

How BAD are they.  Providing the end that fixes to the bulk head (Ie where the bolt goes through) is OK then Repair.
