take it thats a N/a?
bit gutless (and thats from me witha S3 2 1/4 diesel!!!)
chassis rear cross member, bulkhead, door bottoms (if 1 piece) are usual suspects!
£2100 does seem a tad on the low side, especially if the mileage is correct.
give it a good once over , and of course the test drive - try EVERYTHING

I picked up a B reg 90 2.5na as my 18th B-day present :D for 1500 (mind it was needing a bit of work....)

Check bulkhead/footwells for rust
Chassis for rot
4 good ish tyres
If he cares about body condition (i didnt) see how many dents its got
Generally make sure stuff works

Engine doesnt smoke too much
Play in steering
no big clonks when driving
engine/chassis no. match with log book
servicing
MOTs

Thats what i did and came out with an allright car... bit slow but a hell of a lot of fun

C-reg is quite a few years old, check it thoroughly as it wont take long for that £2,100 to rise dramaticaly in repair bills. My P-reg 300tdi was £2,175 but then had to spend £3000 to get it looking half decent and working fine.

Are the piccys on-line somewhere?

You can look for the obvious (rot!) but as for the mechanics..... is your boss up to it?

Might be worth considering running it to a local garage, we have a couple of 4x4 spcialists in the area, or where your taking your Disco, or he could get a RAC/AA inspection done - I think there are around £100.
