Just had to go pick the wife up in Dunning (near Perth) - snowed in and her Merc (rear-wheel drive + automatic) wouldn't stand a chance getting out the drive after being out on the town last night. Had to take a foot of snow off the roof before heading off.
Made 3 rescues on the way there & back - lucky I thought I'd pick up a tow-rope "just in case".
While pulling the first guy out we were passed by a guy in a Polo going way too fast. Finished with the first guy (he left his car by the side of the road & gave him a lift), came round the bend and there was the Polo sitting in a ditch.
"I was trying to keep my momentum up & then a car came the other direction" was his reply.
Pulled him out of the ditch, picked the wife up & headed home.
On the way back up the hill in Dunblane came across a fully loaded Network Rail transit blocking the roundabout - pulled him out & up the hill (definate low box required).
That's averaging one rescue per hour :-) not bad really.
Wonder if this'll shut some of the 4x4 meanies up.
