Speaker wiring

Does anyone know where the rear speakers are supposed to go in a 3 door Discovery 1, and if the wiring is preinstalled. The multiplug on the loom that goes in the radio has the wiring for the rear speakers then disappears of into the loom. I need to add extra speakers to get a bit more sound in the Disco to cover the whine from the SAT tyres...........god they really whine.

I would guess in the same place as the 5 door.

Rear pillars if you pop off those panels either side above the dickie seats/storage bins you'll have mounting holes for a metal frame.  I managed to get two frames from a breakers and fitted some Sony speakers. The wiring was tucked down behind the light clusters.

Then to finish the job I cut the covering panels and finished with mounting the speaker grills onto them.

Got a piccy somewhere.....

Check down by the main loom where the lights are

Mine were ready wired, but have never been connected dropped a speaker on and they worked ok

If you look on the back of the panels you should be able to see the cutouts ready to cut

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40
