You could get more sense out of a Jehovas Witness than these mindless, ill informed bigots.

There are a lot of things in this world that I don't agree with but I wouldn't dream of launching a hateful campaign against someone just because I didn't like their choice of an item that they choose to buy & use.

Mind numbingly Dumb is how I would discripe that woman. targeting players that play for London teams, doesnt she realise that they all live in big mansions outside London.

I think you'll find its a 1970's Transit 12 seater diesel, belching out black smoke as they drive down to the nearest co-op.

At least there was mention that sports cars can be as bad, if not worse.  I want people that unnecessarily rev their engines high (such as rude boys) to be discrimiated against, even a Nova which is revved till the engine wants to jump out the bonnet must produce some serious emission.

Interesting that they only have 500 followers after all this time. Probably accounts for them targeting a high profile target that will get them on the telly.

It was good of the journalist to point out that the sports cars were environmentaly unfriendly as also noted by smartprice. The article was editted though and should have read

Chelsea also came top in the speed league, with their cars capable of an average top speed of 192mph, followed by Birmingham at 175mph and Arsenal at 174mph. Bottom of the league are Mud Club united with an average top speed of 55mph.

another genious inspired piece of thinking from Sian at the alliance.

Reminds me of the old Jasper Carrot sketch about football violence
"Violence on in the stands is blamed on violence on the pitch. The way this works is someone scores a goal and eveyone in the crowd stabs each other"

Obviously if the likes of Sol Campbell,Wayne Rooney,David Beckham etc stop driving 4x4's we will all follow suit and trade in our gas guzzling evil road monsters for 2CV's,pushbikes etc.

Now back in the real world....

As to the statement that "driving a big 4x4 in town as socially unacceptable as drink-driving"
there were 590 alcohol-related road deaths in the year, up from 580 in 2003(source www.80mg.org.uk/ddnews05.html#OCT )
looking at the department of transports websight there is no information or statistics on deaths directly atributed to 4x4 use in towns or anywhere but I would be intrested to be proved wrong

It will die down when the 4x4's drop out of fashion. Then we will be free of getting caught in the antis cross fire. Incedently does anyone know if any anti 4x4 has posted in this forum. Has anyone written to the anti 4x4 lobby and got a reply with regards our hobby?

Blinkered zealot replies I suppose. They treat anti 4x4 as a religion and nothing you can say or evidence you submit will sway them. I guess.

Pretty much... no amount of fact or evidence will convince someone who chooses not to be convinced.

Ms Berry said that footballers were partly responsible for making the 4x4 fashionable among many young people with high disposable incomes. Sales of 4x4s have more than doubled in the past decade to 187,000 last year.

i always thought it was designer drugs and sex in hotel rooms with ladies (or men, depending what you have read in the papers) that thay were responsible for making fashionable among many young people with high disposable incomes.

personaly i dont like football and i dont follow fashion

187,000 people cant be wrong 500 though could be
