SERIOUS ADDICTION !!!
« on: March 14, 2006, 22:35:11 »
I was out shopping with SWMBO at the weekend and bought a jar of bovril (actually it was a plastic tub but that's progress for you )
Now I haven't had bovril for years and thought I'd give it a go - WOW , I'm seriously hooked on the stuff........... had 4 mugs tonight already
Anyone else share my enthusiasm for the stuff ?

I love em both, heavy on the salt though.  Toast and Marmite after drinking heavily before bed is scientifically proven to stop you hanging over (Took Me and the mate half an hour with gardening gloves and other tools to get the lid off once though, what a night)

Bit of advice, never drink Marmite though, it tastes god awful

ahh.. now Marmite is a different matter...   I like Marmite.

Plus, it has far nobler origins..    the ingredients are a by-product of the brewing process  :(stoopid):

Am i the only one??

I'm not a fan of marmite, don't mind eating it occasionly. Both marmite and bovril go well on toast, but for best effects you need them in a toasted sandwich.

Never though much of borvril etc as a hot drink, but then my idea of a good hot drink is black coffee with no sugar (it puts hairs on your chest and the plams of your hands).

My cousin has a salt tooth as opposed to a sweet tooth :)

He has marmite or bovril on toast spread like jam and once ate a batch of toffee which was made with salt instead of sugar,

THE WHOLE THING!!

He would rather eat oxo cubes than sweets
