Please Help me get this thing running...
« on: March 18, 2006, 19:32:07 »
Can anyone please take a look at my webpage http://www.dementedmonkey.co.uk/ and let me know what bits Im missing in order to get this running (1992 Range Rover SE Auto) and where they go.
Thers so many plugs and wires which arent conencted to anything I cant make any sense of it, why I chose a fully loaded 92 Rangie as the base for my hybrid I will never know :-)
On that note if I was to get fed up with this and rip it all out and stick a Weber 500 on would I have issues as it uses an electronic dash etc as well...?

Cheers

Ben

Cool, would I need to retain the ECu etc though or how does the speedo etc work with this speed transducer thing?

Cheers

The speedo is separate from the ECU it just shares the signal, TDis don't have ecu do they but can have electronic speedo.

You can also have a mechanical speedo with the electronic sensor for the ECU, you need to order a spaecial cable though.

As for what's missing, I'd say get a Haynes manual.

I would say most of the stuff under the seat is for ECU and electric seats.
I am now expert so would suggest the haynes route as it has diagrams to work too !

Cheers...

However the Haynes manual (even the latest one) doesnt have the correct wiring diagram for this model and all teh colour codes are wrong etc!!! Hence being a tad condused as to whats what...

eg ignition swith should be

Brown
White
White/orange
White/Red

Mine is

Brown/Purple
white
white/orange
White/black

Only a slight difference there but thats one of the better matches...!!

I will keep messing with it :-)

Cheers
