HELP engine question

I have just been asked if my 2.5 TD engine will bolt up to a range rover 5 speed manual box, guy has a rr with blown engine and wondered if it the engine from my 90 would fit..DOES ANYONE KNOW??
also what other - if any - mods need to be done?

its should fit but the bonnet wont shut cos o the turbo

If the Rangy was a V8 (most likely) then no.....
He would need a 4 cylinder spec LT77 long stick (as per a 90 or 110).....

i think the engine mounts are least of the problem,the engine is loads taller than the standard 1,thats why on a 200tdi they had 2 different positions for turbo's

No it won't, the Defender boxes have a shorter bellhousing than RRC/Disco as the box sits nearer the engine, plus a TDi has a different box again to the V8.

so if i have read the replies right.....if he wanted to fit it into a rr he'd need the engine and box from my 90? and alter the bonnet, and move engine mountings!!
think that just about covers it!!!!
