I am removing my old towbar to fit a detachable one on

The bolts which screw into the rear crossmember, are thay just a bolt or do i need to remove the bumper to access some nuts???????

I managed to get my hand up and hold onto the metal plate which the witter version uses.

Same ere...........bit more room and its only 2 bolts that hold the bumper on  :wink:

just to let you know on the discovery ser2 thay have captive nuts now fitted one only last week well esey you dont have to take the bumper of at all bar and electrics in 40 mins

I managed to get a spanner up behind the bumper to undo the tow bar but needed to remove the bumper to put the tow bar back on.

i managed it with bumper on, and could put it back on like this because whoever fitted the towbar in the first place stuck the load spreading plate in place. bit fiddle but it is possible
