Freelander rear door
« on: March 29, 2006, 13:31:51 »
A freind has just called me her rear door won't open on the key or button on the remote, it unlocks as normal on the other doors, it is a "V" reg.

Any ideas before she puts it to the garage

thanks

Murph,
Is the rear window dropping? If not could be that the cable has broken and therefore not allowing the lock to release. They are all connected thro' the ECU!

It will not unlock on the key in the best of circumstances. The lock on the tailgate is exclusively to raise the rear windscreen.

If the other doors are responding normally, my bet would be on the actuator, or as Llani said, the rear window. Does the window drop either on the internal switch or by keeping the remote button pressed?
