More timing belt questions!

I am getting my timing belt done by someone else (far too complicated for me!).  What else needs changing at the same time?  He said to get the bits and he will fit them, suggested I dont get a cheap belt?  Is there just one tensioner that needs to be replaced along with a new belt?  I assume I need to order a gasket?  

What do I need to order and can anyone suggest the best place to buy them from?

Not sounding like a spoil sport but i'd recomend getting it done at you local L/R specialist, Having worked in the motor trade for a number of years, including roadside breakdown, Cam belts do on occasion fail preamaturly, even if fitted to the last letter of the book.!!
 With a garage you may have some recourse if this happens - warranty on belt, garage insurence etc.
 If it fails they tend to go big and be very expensive :?

I know what you mean but im not completely in the dark.  I work at a small garage / mot station, I know this bloke well.  He is good ex military and has been self employed for years.  

He only really uses a local motor factors for parts, they want £80 for a kit, hence im shopping around. Can you suggest anywhere for the bits or does yours go to the landy specialist?

Fair enough,
 In which case i'd still go local specilist route as they'll use the likes of britpart etc. and in most case's it'll end up being a landrover part anyhow,
 Whilst your in there do both tensioner and idler pullys, also check that you don't need a timing case mod, as early one 's suffered from weak back plate and belts running off pullys and wareing the cover. :D

Oil seal as well. I had the bottom pully done as well as it had worn on the keyway.

it was the early 300 tdi that suffered the alignment fault ,200's were o.k but slightly more difficult to do. did me 200 twice fair job but you have to make sure the bottom pulley damper bolt is torqed up properly . iff not done right they can work loose and damage the end of the crank. alan.....

i went mm4x4 (i think) they are in the mags and do a timing belt kit for about £41
Never underestimate the power of a sick mind !!!!
