Are any mud clubbers going to matchams play day on sunday 30th april (tommorow) ?
I will be ther in a customers 90 and also with another customer in his rangie classic. Be nice to meet a few more MCers ! :)
Hope to see some of you guys there.
It is signposted from A31 and is £25 for the day.
I believe they have a burger bar and WC facilitys.
SADLRC were there last week and from what I hear its a very good site !

Saw the track when we went there for Mean Streets, thought about it but looked a lil boring for my taste. Been spoiled by some of the Play sites the Burham lot use.

Good to know its there though and that its not so bad. Might have to speak to them about a MC play day :)
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

The track as such is all around the areana.
There are 4 areas to play. The quarry, The ski jump, The clay hill and the heath.
Just driving around all the ytracks is 7 miles !
Just by the MX track is a wicked hill with several winch areas. 8)
They have a burger van and loos so would be ideal for MC day.
A few lad bought trialers but there were rav 4s and blinged P38s so plenty of scope for all types ov 4x4.
They open the site for clubs throughout the month.

Shame i missed your post bullfrog - i was there. You might have noticed me, the only nutter in a almost new vehicle (td5 90 - dark blue) throwing myself up and down the hills all day long.

Was a good day, could have done with some more challenges but it was a great day anyways :)

I think we spoke when My mates 90 got stuck in a mud run. :?
The chap I spoke to did not like hi-lift/farm jacks ?
Was that you ??
We were waiting for a bike to come over the straw bales !!
Hope to get there next month.
Its the last sunday of each month and is £25 for the day. Seems to run from 10 - 5 although there were still guys there when we left at 4:30.
I would imagine you could stay longer as there is a fair area to play around .

I am hoping to get mine ready but as I earn my living building them for everyone else I will have to wait. I am half tempted to buy a cheapo rangie just to use a an offroad hack. Ideal for there as its only 4 miles max so I could run a V8.
Now thats got me thinking !!!!
My neighbour has a cheap SJ410 I could use and bin when mines ready ???
Choices choices !!

Not really but need to get there to promote my products .
A cheapo 4x4 with some of my bits on or at least graphics would help.
I would rather just finish my rangie but I dont want to rush it .
I would rather buy a rangie as I can fit some of my bits and sell it on later or a suzuki could open a new avenue of products ??

If I can see the vehicle for a bit to take measurements then it should not  be a problem. :)
The suzuki is an SJ so not sure products based on that would work on vitara ! :?
Where are you based as you could pop in for me to look at vitara regarding bits your after ?

Matchams....Hey, that brings back a few memories. Used to go their years ago when I was knee high to a grasshoppers arm pit. Nothing there then except for the banger racing circit and they had just started the moto-cross.
I was born and bought up in Bournemouth and Matchams banger racing was a regular sunday outing.....I can just smell that burning oil......

Yeah been taken over by new firm who are really promoting the site.
Amazes me that the people who bought houses where the manor used to be moan about noise !
They new it was there when they bought their house !!
We can just hear it on a saturday night but not a problem. we chose to buy a house were we did.
They have a fair few events there now.
Hope the 4x4 day will take off.
They have machinery to change courses so may be able to get some really extreme stuff added.

I have a mate in SADLRC who used it the weekend before so I will ask him about contact details.
I reckon it would make a great club day as it has a varied range of tracks from ambling lanes through the woods to extreme hills and mud !
A few chaps said they would have liked more mud yet 2 of the mud areas were un acheivable on the day. I was in a V8  90 with a 3" lift, cranked arms and 285/75/16 Grizzlys and we got stuck in both twice !
1 of the tracks no one even bothered with as it was so hard !
There are some pics on the SADLRC website but I cannot get the site yto load .

Aye, the muddy bits were "interesting" - i managed to get through the one on the far side of the course, but only after seeing 10+ people get stuck in it!!

It was just too thick and sticky, more rain would have made it easier to get through i rekon.
