Two batterys

Have a Red Optima fitted already, want to fit a second battery to run lights and later a winch, would another red top be ok or do I need a yellow one.

Depends on your winch use, but I would go for a yellow.

The yellow tops are built as Deep Cycle batteries, meaning that they can be run flat and recherged without effecting the battery too much. Optima quote upto 350 cycles!  
The red tops are starter batteries and, although a more powerful battery,  are not made to be run flat too many times before they are knackered.

For the use you're looking for, is there a chance that the battery could be run flat, when winching, running a cool box & lights etc? If so than a yellow top or other deep cycle battery would be in order.  

Search around though cos prices differ by upto £100!!  :shock:
