Help, Advice about Pug Diesel Engine Pleeeesssee
« on: April 30, 2006, 18:36:07 »
My neice has a little Pug 106 D, it has a knackered head gasket, But......... its really smokey too..... now in your opinion is it worth renewing the head gasket, could the smokeyness be as a result of the gasket being "gone" or due to engine wear?

I'm happy to change the gasket.... but not if the consensus if that the lump is knacred...

its a 93/L, 77,000 miles and 8 stamps in the book..... its got 11 months test too!!!!!

personally i would just do the head gasket but get the head checked for cracks they can be prone to cracking if they have been overheated and also check the head for flatness, get a good quality gasket as well cheap ones just pop again
