sunroofs (or sunrooves ??)
« on: April 30, 2006, 22:56:36 »
Is it possible to fit either an electric or manual tilt and slide sunroof to a disco that only has the early simple tilt sunroof ?

Thanks
Peter

Hi there, my 200tdi does not have a sun roof/water feature. I would not buy a Disco with a sun roof cos they all end up getting you wet. I don't know why, is it because the body flexes so much or because when all the older Discos were made they were in the hands of British Leyland and fitted the cheapest they could get (bl@@dy Marina door handles :x )
If you have a sun roof in a Disco and you don't get wet then it is a miracle if you are planning to fit one then I wouldn't cos you would be tempting fate. Best of luck

Hi there, I have seen some very wet Discos and have heard horror stories of the efforts to try and seal them. As I said mine doesn't have one and I would not have bought a Disco with one. To be perfectly honest I think sun roofs are most effective at being a chiminey for us dirty, dirty smokers.

Peter,

I have a spare electric sunroof in the garage, I bought one because I heard of everyone else's problems and thought I better get a spare......

..... but have never needed it  :D

I can happily measure anything you like on it to compare to your manual one if you like

Hi,

New here!

I'm interested in fitting at least one electric sunroof to my Series 1 disco.
Any ideas where to get one, and if they do actually fit.

Cheers,

Ian.

Ian,

Do you have a sunroof already (manual), as if you don't I wouldn't want to be cutting holes in the roof and trying to fit one, it would look a mess and would probably weaken the structure

If you have a sunroof...... keep watching this thread for answers

Hi,

Yeah I already have twin sun roofs but they are the manual twisty thing and I would like an electric one so I can have it open all the way with ease as well as just tilting it.  I'm just wondering if I can find one will the electric just fit in the same hole and would all the holes be in the right place to bolt it all up....

Cheers,

Ian
