I believe it is done to stop the crownwheel spreading away from the pinion under excessive loadings. Naturally the crownwhell and pinion want to work away from each other. Pegging the diff stops the crownwheel from distorting too much.
Oh God... :shock: that's another thing I'm going to convince myself that I need to do.... more expense... :lol: :roll:
Agreed. I haven't done it to my racer, because I run a standard 3.9 engine, but will consider it when I up the power.H
