MANTEC Raised Air Intake for Series III
« on: May 13, 2006, 12:26:21 »
Hi Series Surgeons! Anyone got any experience of fitting one of these to Series III? I got it 2nd hand for a reasonable ticket, but of course it came with no instructions......The nice people at MANTEC sent me the standard instructions, but they are a bit thin and I would appreciate first hand knowledge! Particularly on routing the flex hose from intake to engine and what do you do with the filter? (Air bath type)

Any credible advice much appreciated. Robin   8)

I seem to recall changing the top of the oil bath filter and routing the hose through the wing top ( offside ) and up the side of the windscreen . Make sure the centrifugal filter is well fixed or you will lose it in a tree . The top on the oil bath filter has holes all round it , you change this for a top with one big hole to fit the flexy hose . If you can get the hole in the wing as far outbourd as you can you should not have to alter the bonnet . I think thats all ......Al

By far the easiest way is to bin the oil bath, and relace it with a defender filter, it all fits and its neat and tidy,
