What is this??
« on: May 13, 2006, 15:41:30 »
Hi All.

Went to go out for a day with the wife and kids this morning. And what happends....

Got in, started up, took handbrake off, and brake warning light stays on.

Funny i though. Popped the bonnet only to find the problem immediately. This valve (in the picture) is leaking from the join.

So carefully drive to my dads and strip rebuild and refit. Bleed the brakes. FINE.

Drive home, and quick check, leaking slightly.

SO. My question is. Does anyone know what it is, and what is the part number please. Price too if you know. Thanks wayne.

Will have to order asap, and the MOT runs out on the beast on Monday.

Hi Beast. I took it apart, and it is pretty simple really. A couple of springs, and a couple of o rings. Problem was, it was really dirty, and i think maybe the bore is scored. Looked on craddocks, and if it is the right part, its £92 + vat.

If anyone has a good condition one, that doesnt leak. HELP.. PLEASE>

Its a pressure REDUCING valve..........if you get a full pedal travel to the rear as the front do it would lock up the rear first as there is not as much weight on them.

Dont run without it  :?

I think it's a decelation valve, as Richie says it stops the back end locking up under heavy braking but it's self-adjusting depending on how hard you are slowing down.

You should get one form a breakers.
