« on: May 16, 2006, 23:20:23 »
Well I was trying to fix my dimming rear veiw mirror, it has a lose conection were you plug the plug into it. I managed to get the 3 wires out of the plug but did not turn the ignition off......... zzvvhhtt.... bang! Does any one know where the fuse is that protectes the wiring for the rear veiw mirror from idiots like me? a few other things stoped working as well......the stero turned its self off! and in my frustration locked it up and left it for the night. its a 1994 V8

any help would be greatly recived (or if any one can wave a magic wand to fix it for me that would be even beeter!)

Thanks Jonny

The fuse is most likely with all the others, under the cover to the side of the heater controls, that is unless they radically changed them between 87 and 94.

Some of the fuses protect several low currect circults, so I expect there is one fuse that protects the radio, mirror dimming etc.

Check in the owners manual, it should tell you which fuse protects what and what the fuse should be rated at.

F3 on the main fuse box is for the mirror, from what I can see

Also controls the audio and vanity mirror light too
