Sounds like you could have an intercooler pipe that's delaminated on the inside, partly blocking the intake.
Or check that the wastegate moves freely, it could be sticking and not allowing the turbo to give you full boost.
The wastegate is located under the exhaust manifold, there is an adjustable bar connecting it to the turbo which is held on with a "C" clip. If you remove the "C" clip then you can check the wastegate movement.

Clouds of smoke when you boot it or travel at fair speed on a motorway?
My money's on turbo hoses.

I have had a similar problem, started about a week ago,Found problem: split in fuel line, at the front on top of chassis 6†or so before fuel line curves up to lift pump, happy - no, why, becouse i had a new fuel lift pump fitted Tuesday Grrrr. I should have been off - roading today in Snowdonia, but had to turn round and come back home because it was losing power.

another common thing on discos is the fuel sender where it comes out the tank. the pipes corrode and drag in air, lift the boot carpet, little round plate in the floor . unscrew that and have a look ,youll see the 2 pipes check em over .good luck alan........

As I've just posted in Needbeer's thread. The fuel pipes are prone for rotting on top of the fuel sender. Remove the plate in the boot floor and take a look.
You'll probably find the pipes are coated in rust. Try a coating of vaseline, if that makes it run better, replace the sender unit (around £50 from Craddocks).
