on a landy  any quotes i got for me on a landy (only dreaming as i don't have one and there was no way i could have got one) was over £2000, even when i was down as a named driver on my parents insurance it still would have been £1500.

NFU refused to quote me last year, cos i was justy under 25 and they don accept new business from anyone under 25, only if you already use them or have family who do!

I doubt they would have beaten admiral who insure me and the other half on my 90 td5 csw for just over £320/year, however i do have 6+ yrs ncb :)

Aidrian Flux for me, £300 (including 10% Disco owners club discount)
Fully comp including offroad use (non competitive)

my only annoyance with them is the £15-25 "processing fee" everytime you change your details (address, modifications to vehicle etc)

I've never needed to claim (touch wood) so I can't comment on tehir handling of claims.

I didn't think you could legally be insured on any engine above 3l capacity until you were 21. especially at that price.

Mind you the prices are insurance based an i live near(ish) to london and right next to the medway towns which is even worse which i probably why it was so much

It'll be interesting to see how much the 110 is on renewal, as they insured it for the same amount

well i was with Tesco till two days ago i have been with em for 3 years and this year they take the mick by putting my insurance up so i phoned round and got a wicked quote from adrian flux, so rang tescos and said can u match this thinking they would as me being a valued customer and gues wot....... all i got ok no problem we wont match that so we will cancel ur policy thank you bye................      not happy so i have gone with adrian flux and they are very friendly and dont mind wot mods u have done to your landrover and give me extra insurance for green lanes. Where as tescos did not understand wot mods i had done and would not offer greenlane insurance        basically with tescos if the "computer says NO" then they dont understand

Insurance update

I am insuring my discovery

Driver + spouse age 41and 40

Full UK licences both 20years +

No convictions disabilities etc

6 years no claims

No mods on vehicles but would like to fit steering and tank guard, rock sliders (not exactly performance enhancing

dearest quote  Lancaster:    £3011.72

Others:
Sure term          £700 +
Adrian flux          Ã‚£458
Firebond          Ã‚£385.85
Greenlight unable to insure me because I do 10,000 miles a year and don’t have another car, disco needs to be a second car (motorbike will not do)
Roadsure  unable to insure me because the vehicle is parked on the street

Snowball waiting a reply £389.89 mods allowed

Cheapest Lancaster (through confused.com) £208

will give lancasater a ring tonight and see if they allow mods and greenlanes

well i finally got insurance with Lancaster £208 fully comp paid monthly

not 100% happy
there is an issue with greenlaning and offfroadingas they wont cover it

if i wanted insurance to cover greenlanes and offroad days it was more than double the price

as for the mods
did you know if tow bar is not factory fitted its a modification

as its not a performance enhancing mod it seems its ok
Oh and i told her i had a steering gaurd thats ok as well as long as they have been told

so if you have diff guards side steps or anything else that you havent declaired be warned

NOTE TO SELF
start saving for nice southdown type towbar/tank gaurd
and a steering gaurd

so if you see a disco in blackpool with shiney bits on its prob mine
