Amazing what you see on the roads
« on: May 29, 2006, 15:13:48 »
Coming home from Bedfordshire last week having visited Thumbs for our engine we spotted this beaut on the back of a truck. Didnt have my proper camera so the quality isnt brill but I had to get  a pic of it    I think it is probably the most unusual thing I have ever seen on a road.

Seen quite a few Trains being moved - usually by ALLELYS, based about 15 miles from me..
last week saw 2 HUGE earth movers being moved down the A34 , best one was seeing a steam traction engine on the back of an Immaculate VOLVO F88 being fired up and steaming - on the M62!! dont know the legality of that but I suppose it saves time at the destination!!
Seen quite a few 'strange' things going on in cars too...but thats a different story ;) Oh the Joys of being a Lorry driver!!!!
(so who else has seen a Naked driver? male or female!!)

if anyone here can remember the top gear episode where hammond drives a 911 over some mountains (not the isle of man) and i think he drove it down pendine too

anyway that bit where hes driving across some windy roads is in the preseli mountains where i was brought up..

anyway on that same stretch of road that goes from haverfordwest to cardigan i was driving my dad's same and i spotted a couple going for it in a maestro with a duvet on top of them

when i slowed down and beeped i got the finger (i presume it was clean! ;) )

Since I'm living within 30 miles of 4 steam railways I get to see the odd train on the back of a lorry.

I used to have to make the run to Birkenhead near enough once a fortnight so I saw all kinds of wierd things, including one weekend 5 8x8 Scamell T24 (or was it T26, the Leyland Based Cabover ones) in convoy.
