One of thier reporters (ALAN WHITEHOUSE) has just done a report about the lack of traffic conjestion in Leeds and surrounding areas and put it down to the school run,and guess how he finished his report-we should encourage parents not to use thier 4x4's for the school run. Does that mean that every parent who has children of a school age in this area owns a 4x4?. My BBC as they say so the compliant has gone in.

I saw the report but missed that bit! I was probably too busy screaming at the tv about the responsibility of parents to see their children safely to school as he went on about getting more children to cycle!!! If they want to cut down on congestion why not change the times of schools starting.........surely that would work just as well?

You sound surprised that the Beeb are having a go. Not like they are spokespersons for the Government of the Republic of England, Scotland, Wales, N.Ireland etc etc.

Hell i used to take the kids to school in the m/bike n s/car . . . . .
not only did i get loads of complaints off perents cos it was "noisy". . . .

(kids loved it i might add, n so did all their mates),

The amount of bad press we where getting from all walks of life was unreal. .

However cant quite make me mind up,  that we,  as the so called "bikers"
saw the bad press as a personal insult directed at us an only us. . . . just cos it was our chosen mode of transport. . .

When really it is always there (if you look for it) and always made by a "grumpy old man/women" of whom one can never even remember their names now. . . . . . . or what office they where from. . .

"Whilst their talking about "US" their talking about no one else ". . . sjust our turn. . . . thats my view anyway. . . . . for what its worth
